Island Lilly Ltd – Terms & Conditions of Booking
Effective Date: 1 January 2024
These Terms & Conditions govern all bookings made with Island Lilly Ltd, a licensed tour operator based in Mauritius. By booking with us, you agree to these terms on behalf of all persons listed on the booking.
1. Your Contract with Island Lilly
A contract is formed when Island Lilly Ltd issues a written confirmation of your booking. The party leader must be over 18 years old and has the authority to accept these terms on behalf of the group. By booking, you agree to:
- Provide accurate personal information
- Accept responsibility for payments on behalf of all travellers
2. Booking Process & Payment
- A non-refundable deposit of 10% (or £250, whichever is greater) is required to secure a booking.
- The full balance is due no later than 4 weeks before departure.
- Bookings made within 4 weeks of travel require full payment at the time of booking.
- Failure to pay on time may result in cancellation and loss of deposit.
3. Pricing
- All prices are quoted in GBP and include applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.
- We reserve the right to adjust prices before a booking is confirmed due to:
- Major exchange rate fluctuations
- After confirmation, prices will not be changed except under exceptional circumstances.
4. Amendments by You
- Requests for changes must be made in writing.
- Amendments are subject to availability and may incur supplier charges.
- If you wish to transfer your booking to another person, this must be done at least 7 days prior to departure and may incur a £50 administration fee.
5. Cancellation by You
All cancellations must be made in writing. The following cancellation charges apply:

- Some packages (e.g. special activities or retreats) may be non-refundable.
- Refunds are not available for unused services.
6. Changes or Cancellations by Us
We may need to make changes or cancel a booking due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g. weather, supplier issues). If so, we will:
- Offer an equivalent alternative at no extra charge
- Or refund your payment in full
We are not liable for further compensation if the cancellation is due to events beyond our control (see Clause 10 – Force Majeure).
7. Travel Insurance
Adequate travel insurance is a mandatory condition of booking. Your policy should cover:
We accept no responsibility for costs incurred due to insufficient insurance.
8. Health, Accessibility & Special Requests
- You must inform us at the time of booking about any medical conditions, disabilities, or dietary needs.
- We will do our best to meet special requests but cannot guarantee them.
- Failure to disclose medical conditions may result in denied service or cancellation without refund.
9. Behaviour
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel a booking if behaviour is deemed unsafe, disruptive, or disrespectful toward staff, service providers, or other guests. No refund will be given in such cases.
10. Force Majeure
Island Lilly Ltd shall not be held liable for any delay, disruption, or cancellation of services caused by events beyond our reasonable control. These may include, but are not limited to:
- Natural disasters (e.g. cyclones, floods, earthquakes)
- Government restrictions or travel bans
- Civil unrest, strikes, or industrial action
- Airline or transport disruptions
In such cases, we will make every reasonable effort to:
- Notify you promptly of any changes
- Offer a suitable alternative itinerary or reschedule where possible
- Provide a full refund if no alternative can be arranged
- Please note that compensation will not be payable for cancellations or changes resulting from force majeure events, as these are outside our control.
11. Our Liability
- We are responsible for ensuring your booked travel services are delivered as described.
- We are not responsible for services or excursions not booked through Island Lilly.
- We accept no liability for loss, damage, illness, or injury caused by third-party providers unless due to our negligence.
12. Complaints
- Please raise any issues with your Island Lilly host or representative as soon as possible so we can resolve them.
- Formal complaints must be submitted in writing within 28 days of your return to:

13. Passports, Visas, and Health Requirements
You are responsible for ensuring all travellers:
- Hold a valid passport (minimum 6 months validity)
- Obtain necessary visas for Mauritius
- Comply with health and vaccination requirements
We are not liable for refusal of entry or missed travel due to inadequate documents.
14. Excursions and Activities
Island Lilly Ltd offers a variety of excursions and activities through vetted third-party providers. While we strive to ensure all experiences are safe and enjoyable, some activities may carry inherent risks (e.g. hiking, water sports, wildlife interactions, or cultural events).
- Participation in any activity is entirely at the traveller’s own risk.
- Certain excursions may require guests to sign a waiver acknowledging potential risks and accepting personal responsibility.
- Island Lilly Ltd is not liable for any injury, loss, or damage incurred during activities not booked directly through our platform.
- We recommend all participants follow safety instructions, wear appropriate gear, and disclose any medical conditions to activity organisers beforehand.
By booking with Island Lilly Ltd, you confirm that all participants understand and accept these terms regarding optional excursions and third-party activities.

15. Jurisdiction
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Mauritius. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Mauritian courts in accordance with Mauritian law.
