The beach is long enough for a run on the sand. By lunchtime, Beach Rouge has its seafood and market style meat counters going, and the villas face the sea, the Beach Front Villas closest of all to the shore.
On the east coast at Belle Mare, the resort works with the Mauritian Wildlife Foundation and Ecosud. Water sports on the lagoon are included, and golf courses and a kite surfing spot are close by.
Junior Suites open onto a terrace with a day bed. For a couple, the LUX* Suite has a swing bed looking over the beach and a bathtub made for two. A larger family can take a Prestige Villa, with two bedrooms and two bathrooms.
Amari by Vineet carries the signature of Vineet Bhatia, with contemporary Indian cooking served à la carte or as a tasting menu. Duck Laundry is the Chinese table: Peking duck, Sichuanese, Shanghainese and Cantonese dishes, and dim sum made every day.
