The spa is laid out as a typical African village, with three garden kiosks where treatments are given outdoors. Afterwards there is the vitality pool, the chilled pool or one of the two hammams, and by evening Zenzibar, the lounge bar, has music every night.
Bel Ombre lies within a UNESCO Man and the Biosphere Reserve. Walking trails and picnics lead into the estate's nature reserve, treks go further to Rochester Falls and Gris Gris, and at La Place du Moulin is the World of Seashells museum.
On the ground floor, Deluxe Beachfront rooms and Senior Suites have a terrace and direct access to the beach. Above, Senior Suites have a sea front balcony and a jacuzzi, and the single Heritage Villa Beachfront has two master bedrooms, a children's room and its own pool.
Meals here are all inclusive. Savana, the main restaurant, has its own sommelier; at midday Kizuri hands out sandwiches and faratha to take away, then cakes, pancakes and ice cream from three o'clock. Infinity Blue cooks surf and turf beside the pool and the beach.
All Inclusive or Premium All Inclusive is decided for the whole party, so we settle that together first, then the room, from the beach to the villa.
