The remains of the fortification and its cannons lie within the same 17 acres of tropical garden as the rooms and restaurants. The Planteur Bar's terrace looks over a water feature in the gardens, and rooms face either the garden or the sea.

At Pointe aux Canonniers, the hotel looks towards the northern islands, a view taken in from the Navigator restaurant and the two Suites. In the grounds, Peter Matkovich designed a miniature course that replicates the last nine holes of Mont Choisy Le Golf.

Kept for couples, the two ground floor Suites each have a lounge, a private terrace and direct access to the beach. Families have Family Duplexes and Family Apartments with two bedrooms and two bathrooms.

Frangipanier, the main restaurant, sits beside a pool with a terrace shaded by coconut trees. Serenata cooks Italian six evenings a week, and through the afternoon the Tamam food truck serves contemporary street food.

A Suite on the beach for two, or a Family Apartment for the whole party: we match the room to who is travelling and set Canonnier within the wider journey.
