One boutique resort by the lagoon, chosen for its calm and its garden, so the week settles rather than moves.
The island's oldest botanical garden, vanilla and tea estates, and the quiet valleys of the interior.
A Creole mansion above the Moka valley, the markets of Port Louis, and the calm water of Blue Bay by glass-bottom boat.
Slow mornings, an afternoon with a book, and dinners by the water as the light goes.
Eight nights from a single beachfront base, with a private driver for every outing and someone on the island to call, by day or night.
The days alternate: a garden or an estate, then a day that asks nothing at all. Nothing is rushed, and the schedule stays light enough to change on the morning if the mood does.
From arrival to departure the arranging is ours, so the week itself is yours: the pace is the point.
Your first day begins with a welcome at the airport and a private transfer to the coast, the road running through green country with the sea showing between.
At your beachfront resort the island slows to its own pace. A welcome drink, the ocean in front of you, or simply a moment to breathe: the first day asks only that you arrive.
Today follows the north coast. The morning is among old trees and tropical blooms at the island's oldest botanical garden, then Cap Malheureux, its red-roofed chapel above calm water, where lunch is grilled seafood by the beach.
Grand Baie comes next, its front lined with cafés and small boutiques, and the day closes at Mont Choisy as the sunset turns the sea gold.
The day unfolds at your own pace: a slow breakfast, a swim, an afternoon by the pool with a book.
As evening falls, dinner is by the sea, the lights low and the water close.
Today looks to the island's Creole and colonial past. The morning is at Eureka House, a nineteenth-century Creole mansion set in gardens above the Moka valley, its rooms still full of antiques and family pieces, with lunch on the wide veranda over the river.
The afternoon goes to Port Louis, its markets and old buildings, and a coffee at the Caudan Waterfront as the boats cross the harbour.
This morning is spent at Blue Bay Marine Park, on the south-east coast, where a glass-bottom boat passes over coral and reef fish and the lagoon shows its colours in calm, sunlit water.
The afternoon can carry on with a beach picnic by the water for anyone who would like one.
Today works south through the estates. La Vanille first, its grounds home to giant tortoises and tropical birds.
Then Saint Aubin, where lunch is served plantation-style among the vanilla and cane, with a chance to see how the vanilla is cured. The day ends at Bois Chéri, the island's tea estate, the hills in mist and the scent of rolled leaf through the air.
Today holds only options: a long breakfast, a lie-in, another hour at the spa if it suits.
For anyone restless, the resort has more to offer, and the beach is a short walk away. The afternoon is yours, and dinner is kept light, perhaps under the stars.
The last morning is slow, with time to sit with the week before you go.
After check-out, a private transfer takes you to the airport, and the island goes with you: the warmth of its people, the colour of its coast, the calm that stays a while after you land.

From sunlit terraces to tucked-away retreats, our boutique accommodations echo the soul of Mauritius. Designed for comfort, chosen for character, and woven into your journey with intention.
