An anniversary, marked properly

Seven nights on a single stretch of coast, with the week built around one evening that belongs entirely to the two of you.

Your stay is half board at one of the island's leading five-star hotels, with a private driver for every transfer and a team who come to know you by name. The days alternate time on the water and time in the hills with days that ask nothing at all.

The evening aboard a vintage yacht is yours alone: the whole boat, five courses with paired wines, and a moment arranged in advance to mark the years behind you.

A week built around one anniversary: seven nights on a single stretch of coast, quiet where you want it, and one evening arranged entirely for the two of you.
Day 1
The First Evening
Private airport welcome • Private transfer • The first evening

A private welcome at the airport, and a transfer to your resort as the day cools. There is a glass of something cold as the light goes, dinner when you are ready, and nothing to do this first evening but arrive, and let the week begin.

Day 2
A Day to Begin Slowly
Spa • The lagoon • A long lunch • Dinner for two

The first full day is slow by design: the spa, the pool, the lagoon, a long lunch and a dinner for two. The week has time built into it on purpose, and this is where you start to spend it.

Day 3
A Day on the Water
Catamaran day • Swimming and snorkelling • Lunch on board

Today is given to the water, aboard a catamaran out across the lagoon to sheltered spots for swimming and snorkelling. Lunch is served on board, the afternoon is easy on deck, and you are back at the resort with the evening open.

Day 4
A Free Day, and the Southern Sky
A free day • Optional spa • Evening astronomy

The day asks nothing of you: a late breakfast, the pool, a treatment at the spa if it suits. After dark, a local astronomer sets up on the grounds and turns a telescope on the southern sky, naming the constellations this hemisphere alone can see. The evening is offered by the house, and depends on a clear night.

Day 5
An Evening Aboard the Lady Lisbeth
The Lady Lisbeth • Cocktail and canapés on deck • Five courses with paired wines • Sunset on the lagoon

This is the evening the week is built around. As the light softens, you step aboard the Lady Lisbeth, a vintage yacht restored to her earlier grace. A cocktail and canapés wait on deck as she turns into the lagoon, the shore lights coming up behind you. Dinner is five courses, each with a wine chosen to match it, served on the water as the sun goes down. The crew keep to the background, the evening belongs to the two of you, and somewhere in it is a moment we arranged in advance to mark the occasion.

Day 6
The Green Highlands
Grand Bassin sacred lake • Chamarel and its waterfall • Rum distillery tasting • Panoramic lunch in the hills

Today the road climbs into the green highlands with your private driver. The morning takes in Grand Bassin, a crater lake in the hills and the island's most revered Hindu pilgrimage site, then Chamarel, for the Seven Coloured Earths and the waterfall beside them. A rum distillery follows, with a tasting of what the cane becomes, and the viewpoints over the Black River Gorges open the forest all the way to the sea. Lunch is a long one, at a table in the hills with the valley below, before the drive back to the coast.

Day 7
A Last Day, Kept Open
At leisure • Time by the sea • A restful last evening

The last full day is kept open on purpose. There is time by the sea, a last treatment, an early dinner at the resort. The day before you fly is yours to spend slowly, so you leave the island rested.

Day 8
The Journey Home
A slow morning • Private airport transfer

A slow breakfast and a last hour by the water before your private transfer to the airport. You leave with the week behind you and the evening the two of you will keep.
