Two beachfront hotels, one in the calm south and one in the livelier north, each chosen for how it suits a family.
Botanical gardens, sugar estates and coastal villages, with medium days alternating with lighter ones.
Snorkelling in the lagoon, dolphins off the west coast, catamaran days to the northern islets, and giant tortoises up close.
Beach picnics, scenic drives and sunsets by the sea, the days a family remembers.
Ten nights across two coasts, from the quiet south to the busier north, with a private driver for every transfer and support on the island day and night.
The days alternate: a nature park or a boat day, then a day that asks nothing at all, so the adults rest as much as the children play. Every stay is chosen for how it works for a family, not only for how it looks.
From arrival to departure, the logistics are ours, so the week itself is yours: the time together is the point.
Your first day begins the moment you land, where a familiar face is waiting to take you through to a private transfer. The drive follows the coast, the sea on one side and the cane fields on the other, until your resort comes into view.
A welcome drink meets you on arrival, there is time for the children to find their feet, and nothing is asked of the family on this first evening but to settle in and let the week ahead take shape.
Today is an easy introduction to the island's water. The morning is spent at Blue Bay Marine Park, one of Mauritius's protected reefs, where a glass-bottom boat passes over coral gardens and reef fish in clear, shallow water.
Your guide leads the snorkelling in the calm of the lagoon, gentle enough for the youngest of the family. A beach picnic follows, with time to swim before the boat returns along the coast.
The day is open, given to the pool and the jacuzzi and whatever pace the family chooses to keep.
After dark, a local astronomer sets up on the grounds and turns a telescope on the southern sky, picking out the constellations this hemisphere alone can see. The evening is offered by the house and depends on a clear night.
Today is spent at Casela, on the west coast, where open savannah-style parkland sits beneath the mountains. A guide takes the family through on safari, past giraffe, zebra and rhino, with the option to feed the big cats or share breakfast beside a giraffe for those who would like to.
The petting farm suits younger children, while the ziplines and quad trails suit those who prefer more activity. Your guide shapes the day around who wants what, so the pace belongs to the family rather than the park.
This morning a private speedboat heads out along the Black River coast, where spinner and bottlenose dolphins are often seen running alongside, and, in the right season, whales further out beyond the reef.
The route follows the shore to quiet coves and beaches the road does not reach, with time to swim before returning by late morning.
The morning stays close to the resort, with the pool and the lagoon, the kids' club, and mini-golf, table tennis or a pedal-boat for anyone after a small adventure.
After a light lunch, a private transfer carries the family up to the north coast for the second half of the week, to a beachside bungalow with its own pool and room to spread out.
Today follows the north coast. The morning is at Pamplemousses, the island's historic botanical garden, known for its avenues of tall palms and the pond of giant water lilies.
Grand Baie comes next, the busier stretch of the coast, then Cap Malheureux, where a grill on the sand serves the morning's catch beneath the red-roofed chapel. The afternoon settles at Mont Choisy, the water calm and the light turning gold, and the day closes with dinner by the beach as the sun goes down.
A full day across the south-west, the wildest part of the island. The road climbs to Chamarel for the Seven Coloured Earths and the waterfall above them, then to the Black River Gorges, where the viewpoint opens over unbroken forest.
Giant tortoises come next, slow and old in their grounds, followed by a workshop where model ships are built by hand, a craft that carries the island's maritime past. The day ends at the rim of Trou aux Cerfs, the dormant crater above Curepipe, with the central plateau laid out below.
Today is given to the water. The catamaran sets out from Grand Baie with breakfast laid on deck, and as the mainland falls away the horizon opens to reef and the volcanic outcrops of the north.
She anchors off Îlot Gabriel and Flat Island, with the lagoon shallow and warm and time to swim, snorkel over the reef, or stay on deck. Lunch is a barbecue served on board, and the crossing home passes Coin de Mire, the islet rising sharp from the sea, before Grand Baie returns to view.
The last morning keeps its own gentle pace, with time for a final swim or a slow breakfast by the water before check-out. When the hour comes, your private transfer is ready, and the road to the airport traces the same coast that opened the week.
You leave with the island behind you and its ease still with you, and a standing invitation to tell us how it went, so the next family's week is finer still.

From sunlit terraces to tucked-away retreats, our boutique accommodations echo the soul of Mauritius. Designed for comfort, chosen for character, and woven into your journey with intention.
